Registration Details

The Speak Up Stand Up Save a Life conference will offer students the chance to hear from local and national speakers on the different issues they face on a daily basis both inside and outside of the school. Breakout sessions will also allow them to discuss and brainstorm ideas on how to help their schools increase each student’s ability to speak out when they see behavior that could be harmful to another student from bullying, to substance abuse and even suicide.

The conference is on a first come first served basis and is limited to the first 4,000 students. Each school attending will need to have a building administrator, school counselor, school project advisor, and 2 parent representatives that will have agreed to the conference attendance requirements and the post-conference deliverables.

Student attendee guidelines are as follows:

  • Schools can register up to (15) students at this time (Per school)

  • Students attending should represent a cross-section of the school’s student population

  • Students must currently be in a minimum of 6th and a maximum of 11th grade. Content is geared to students in that age rage, however, if you feel you have students of a different grade that could benefit from this conference please reach out to kristi@speakstandsave.com directly.

Other important details:

  • PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A COMPLETE AND ACCURATE LIST OF YOUR ATTENDEES

  • The conference will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2018 at Grand Canyon University – basketball arena, 3300 West Camelback Rd Phoenix, AZ 85017

  • Conference begins at 9:00 a.m. and end approximately 2:30 p.m. We will determine bus schedules once all registration forms are complete.

  • Lunch is included for all attendees (there will be vegan and vegetarian options available)

  • The conference is expected to be a large media event.

  • Each school/district is responsible for transportation to and from the conference and all associated costs.

  • A pre and post conference evaluation with all attending student is requested

  • Submittal of a Project Implementation action plan and timeline by February 12, 2019

  • Submittal of a complete Project Implementation by May 31, 2019

  • School and/or district is responsible for any costs associated with Project Implementation.

  • All volunteers and facilitators will come from MCAO, Leadership West Alumni, a resource pool of more than 400 businesses, educators and faith-based organizations.
